THE CLIMATE CRISIS ENDANGERS THE KEY ELEMENTS REQUIRED FOR HUMAN PROGRESS, AND THREATENS TO UNDO THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE PAST DECADES.

From rising sea levels, rising temperatures and drought; anywhere in the world you look today, it's possible to see the devastating impacts of climate change. Naza witnessed the effects first-hand whilst living in Nigeria, where longer rainy seasons have a direct impact on crop yields. Lower yields mean less income for families, and that often means they resort to desperate measures in order to supplement family income. Children are forced into early marriages, and to trade school-work for farm-work. Young girls and women are especially vulnerable to the social, health and economic upheavals caused by the crisis. Unfortunately, many are pushed into transactional sex to survive.

Naza realised there was a knowledge gap about climate change, even amongst those directly impacted by the environmental disaster. After researching ways to mitigate the effects and gaining experience in the field, she decided to take action.
She began working with international agencies such as UNICEF, who are providing communities with tools and methods to deal with environmental disasters, as well as increasing opportunities within a sustainable, green economy. Naza supports and advises on initiatives with holistic, resilient solutions that can withstand the crises of today and tomorrow.
In 2018 Naza founded S.A.G.E innovation centre, a foundation with a unique ecosystem of experts and entrepreneurs, committed to making a long-term difference in the fight for a more sustainable future.

S.A.G.E are working to build climate resilience in low-income communities, and they're supporting people already affected by its impact.
They are also empowering Middle Eastern and African SMEs to develop innovative climate solutions, prioritizing and scaling technology-driven climate initiatives for the benefit of marginalized communities, who are at the forefront of climate change.
